Schizo

Schizo is a British thriller about Samantha, a champion figure skater who has just married Alan Falconer, a successful industrialist. Their wedding is covered in the newspapers as a symbol of the couple's social standing, and they settle into a comfortable life in London. What Samantha cannot leave behind is her past: years earlier her mother was murdered, and the man convicted of the killing, William Haskin, was also her mother's lover. When Haskin is released, he begins to follow Samantha, and she comes to believe that the figure haunting her is the same man. As people around her die, her account of events is doubted, and those closest to her suspect that her mind is giving way.

Pete Walker directed and produced the film, working from a screenplay by David McGillivray. It was the fourth film in a run of features Walker made during the 1970s, following The Flesh and Blood Show and Tiffany Jones and preceding The Comeback and House of the Long Shadows. Lynne Frederick plays Samantha, with John Leyton as Alan, Stephanie Beacham as Beth, Queenie Watts as Mrs. Wallace, John Fraser as Leonard and Jack Watson as Haskin.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.8 from around 1,700 votes, while on TMDB its rating is 5.6 from a much smaller number of votes. The title refers to the psychiatric label attached to its heroine, whose reliability as a witness is the film's central question.
