More American Graffiti

More American Graffiti picks up the characters of George Lucas's American Graffiti and follows them into the second half of the 1960s. The story unfolds across several years, built around the last day of each year, as the friends move from small-town teenage life into college campuses, counterculture parties, peace marches and the Vietnam War. Their relationships and plans change with the times: one couple argues over whether a wife should pursue a degree or stay at home, others drift into the hippie scene, and one friend goes missing in combat. The film is a sequel, and its characters' hopes and romances are reshaped by the era around them.

Bill L. Norton directed and wrote the screenplay; Howard G. Kazanjian produced for Universal Pictures and Lucasfilm Ltd. Paul Le Mat, Cindy Williams, Candy Clark, Charles Martin Smith, Mackenzie Phillips and Bo Hopkins appear among a credited cast of 68, with 42 credited crew members. Norton's directing credits, in order, include Gargoyles (1972), this 1979 film, False Arrest (1991), Hercules in the Underworld (1994), Stolen Innocence (1995), Gone in the Night (1996) and Them (1996). It runs 111 minutes.
