The Last Days of American Crime

In the near future, the United States government prepares to roll out a system that would make it impossible for anyone to deliberately break the law, a step taken as a definitive answer to crime and terrorism. With the change approaching, a country already unsettled heads toward a new order, and small-time criminal Graham Bricke sees a closing window. He has never managed a big score, and before the signal takes effect he puts together an untested crew for what is meant to be a landmark heist, bringing in the young gangster Kevin Cash and black-market hacker Shelby Dupree. William Sawyer also figures among the characters caught up in the plan.

The film was directed by Olivier Megaton, its fifth feature after Transporter 3, Colombiana, Taken 2 and Taken 3. Karl Gajdusek wrote the screenplay, and Barry Levine, Jesse Berger and Jason Michael Berman produced it for Radical Studios, Mandalay Pictures and Radical Pictures. Edgar Ramírez plays Graham, with Michael Pitt, Anna Brewster, Sharlto Copley, Tamer Burjaq and Neels Clasen among a credited cast of 49. Released in June 2020, the action crime thriller runs 148 minutes. Reception splits sharply: critics gave it 2.6 out of 10 across 41 reviews, and on IMDb it holds 3.8 from around 13,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.5 from roughly 865 votes.
