Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys

Ash Ketchum and his friends arrive in Larousse City, a high-tech metropolis known for its Battle Tower, where Ash hopes to take part in a match. There he meets Tory, a boy who has been afraid of Pokémon since a frightening encounter years earlier, and who keeps his distance from Pikachu and the others. The visit is interrupted when Deoxys, a Pokémon that came to Earth inside a meteorite, appears over the city. It seals Larousse off behind a barrier and begins taking control of its machines, holding the inhabitants inside. Rayquaza, which lives in the ozone layer and regards Deoxys as an intruder, comes down to confront it, leaving Ash, Tory and their friends caught in the middle of the struggle.

The film is the eleventh of twenty-eight directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, following Pokémon: Jirachi Wish Maker and preceding Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, with a screenplay by Hideki Sonoda. Rica Matsumoto voices Satoshi, Ikue Otani voices Pikachu, and the cast also includes KAORI, Yuji Ueda, Fushigi Yamada and Megumi Hayashibara, among twenty-five credited voice actors.

Released in Japan in July 2004, the 98-minute film took in about 34 million dollars worldwide. It holds a rating of 6.1 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 5,100 votes, and 6.6 out of 10 on TMDB from around 300 votes.
