Allie Foster, a struggling artist in New York, loses her job at a luxury hotel and reluctantly takes work as governess to a young girl from a powerful European family living in a castle. The child turns out to be Princess Theodora of Winshire, a rebellious girl who has driven away previous governesses. Allie and Theodora gradually form a bond, and Allie also draws the attention of King Maximillian, who is expected to marry a woman chosen for him rather than one he loves. A countess in the court opposes the growing closeness between the governess and the king.
The film is a television romance directed by Alex Zamm, working from a screenplay by Neal H. Dobrofsky and Tippi Dobrofsky, with Amy Krell producing. It was released in 2015 and runs 84 minutes. Danica McKellar plays Allie, Rupert Penry-Jones plays Maximillian, Ellie Botterill plays Theodora, and the cast also includes Pavel Douglas, Colin McFarlane and Amy Marston. It sits seventh in the chronological list of Zamm's eleven directed features, between Jingle All the Way 2 and Woody Woodpecker.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.9 from around 6,500 votes, and on TMDB it also stands at 6.9, from roughly 206 votes, indicating a small but consistently favourable response from viewers.
