Sweet Revenge

After Masao is wrongly imprisoned for the murder of a moneylender, his sister Kiriko travels from Kitakyushu to Tokyo to seek help. She begs a prominent criminal defense lawyer named Otsuka to take the case, believing local legal representation is insufficient. Otsuka rejects her request. Following a failed appeal and Masao's subsequent suicide in prison, Kiriko returns to Tokyo to seek vengeance against the lawyer for his refusal to help.

Released in 1977, this mystery film was directed by Katsumi Nishikawa. It is the 32nd of 33 films he directed, following The Wild Daisy and preceding My Phoenix. The screenplay was written by Kei Hattori. The movie stars Momoe Yamaguchi as Kiriko Yanagida, alongside Rentaro Mikuni as Kinzo Otsuka, Tomokazu Miura, Hiroshi Sekiguchi, Haruko Katō, and Izumi Hara, with a total of 22 credited cast members.
