Pardon Us

Set during American Prohibition, Pardon Us follows Stan and Ollie, a pair of bootleggers whose attempt to sell a bottle of their homemade beer to a policeman lands them in prison. Stan's loose tooth, which produces an odd whistling sound, complicates matters further, as does their entanglement in events behind bars. The film was directed by James Parrott, who had previously made Hog Wild and would go on to make Washee Ironee, and was produced by Hal Roach through Hal Roach Studios. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy star as Stan and Ollie, with June Marlowe as the warden's daughter, Wilfred Lucas as the warden, James Finlayson as a schoolteacher and Walter Long as The Tiger. The film runs sixty-eight minutes.
