Don't Hang Up
Short description
Sam and Brady are teenagers who spend their free time making prank calls and posting recordings of them online, without much thought for the people on the other end. One evening their game is turned against them: an unknown caller contacts them and repeats their own trick, threatening harm to their friends and family unless they do as he says. What begins as an apparent joke becomes something far more dangerous, and the pair are forced to keep the call going while they look for a way out.
Don't Hang Up is a British horror thriller directed by Damien Macé and Alexis Wajsbrot, working from a screenplay by Joe Johnson. It was released in 2016 and runs 83 minutes. Gregg Sulkin plays Sam Fuller and Garrett Clayton plays Brady Mannion, with Sienna Guillory, Robert Goodman, Chris Wilson and Jack Brett Anderson in supporting roles.
Audience responses are mixed but slightly warmer than the critical one. On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.6 from around 18,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.2 from roughly 590 votes. The critics' rating of 4.2 from 18 reviews is lower than both audience scores, suggesting that viewers found more to hold their attention than reviewers did.

- Alexis Waisbrod and Damien Mace stated that they filmed this movie as a tribute to 1990s slashers, including Wes Craven’s (1939-2015) “Scream” (1996) and Jim Gillespie’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (1997).
- When Brady calls his neighbor on the phone, the neighbor introduces himself as Brady Gunderson and imitates a North Dakota accent. This is a reference to the Coen brothers’ thriller “Fargo” (1995), which featured a character named Marge Gunderson, played by Frances McDormand.
