Bad Boys for Life

Bad Boys for Life follows Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, longtime partners whose lives are pulling them in different directions. Marcus, now a grandfather, is ready to leave the force and spend his time with his family, while Mike remains fully committed to the job. When Mike becomes the target of an assassination attempt, the two are drawn back together, and the trail leads them toward Armando Armas, the head of a Miami drug cartel. The pair joins AMMO, an elite unit within the Miami police department, in order to track him down.

The film was directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, whose earlier features were Black and Gangsta. It is the third entry in the Bad Boys series, arriving seventeen years after the second. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return as Mike and Marcus, with Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton and Paola Nuñez among the supporting cast. Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith and Doug Belgrad produced, and Joe Carnahan, Peter Craig and Chris Bremner wrote the screenplay. Roughly a hundred actors and around a hundred and fifty crew members are credited.

Made for about 90 million dollars, the film took in some 427 million dollars worldwide, a strong return on its budget. On IMDb it holds 6.5 out of 10 from around 196,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.1 from a much smaller pool of voters. A critics' rating of 6.2 from 270 reviews places it slightly below the audience scores. El Arbi and Fallah went on to direct Rebel and a further Bad Boys installment.
