Remember Me, My Love

The Ristuccia family lives in Rome, where Carlo and Giulia have been married for twenty years. Both set aside early ambitions: Carlo works in finance while nursing an unfinished novel, and Giulia teaches despite having wanted to act. Their children push in their own directions. Valentina, seventeen, is determined to break into television as a showgirl, while her brother Paolo, about to finish school, drifts through unrequited feelings and uncertainty. When Carlo runs into Alessia, a woman he loved in his youth, the encounter unsettles the family's fragile balance, and each member begins chasing the life they feel they were denied.

Gabriele Muccino directed and co-wrote the film with Heidrun Schleef, following his 2001 feature The Last Kiss. Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Laura Morante play Carlo and Giulia, with Monica Bellucci as Alessia, Silvio Muccino as Paolo and Nicoletta Romanoff as Valentina. Domenico Procacci produced. The Italian production had a budget of about 5 million dollars and took roughly 13 million dollars worldwide.

Audience responses were moderate: on IMDb the film holds 6.4 out of 10 from around 4,600 votes, and on TMDB 5.8 out of 10 from roughly 250 votes. A critics' rating of 6 out of 10 from 33 reviews places it close to the audience scores, suggesting a lukewarm but not dismissive reception for this domestic drama about ambitions and disappointments.
