Here Alone

Ann lives alone in the woods outside New York after a mysterious epidemic destroys most of society. She survives by staying hidden, foraging and making occasional trips into nearby towns for supplies, while those infected by the disease remain dangerous. On one of those trips she encounters Olivia, a teenage girl, and Olivia's injured stepfather, Chris. Taking them in forces Ann to confront a life of isolation she has grown used to, and the three set out together through a landscape where both the infected and other survivors pose a threat.

Here Alone is a 2016 American horror and science fiction film directed by Rod Blackhurst, written by David Ebeltoft and produced by Arun Kumar. Lucy Walters plays Ann, with Gina Piersanti as Olivia, Adam David Thompson as Chris and Shane West as Jason. It followed Blackhurst's earlier film Night Swim and preceded Amanda Knox, Blood for Dust and Dolly in his filmography. Critics rated it 6.2 out of 10 across 35 reviews, while audiences on TMDB were less enthusiastic, giving it 5.4 out of 10 from 254 votes, a modest reception for a small-scale independent genre film.
