Mom and Dad

In a quiet suburban neighborhood, parents suddenly turn violently against their own children. Brent and Kendall Ryan appear to have an ordinary family life with their teenage daughter Carly and younger son Joshua, though tensions run beneath the surface. When a mysterious signal spreads through television broadcasts, mothers and fathers across the community fall into a mass hysteria that drives them to hunt their own offspring. Carly and Joshua must survive the day while their parents, and the other adults around them, become the threat.

Brian Taylor wrote, directed and produced the film, which followed his earlier work on Crank, Crank: High Voltage, Gamer and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and preceded Hellboy: The Crooked Man. Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair play the parents, with Anne Winters and Zackary Arthur as the children. The cast numbers forty, with ninety-six crew credited.

The film runs 86 minutes and blends comedy, horror and thriller elements. It was released in January 2018 and produced through companies including Ingenious Media, XYZ Films, The Fyzz and Taurus Film, with the United Kingdom and the United States among its countries of production. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.6 from around 30,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.4 from roughly 1,100 votes. A critics' rating of 6 out of 10 from 135 reviews places professional response slightly above the audience scores on both platforms.
