Going Places

Going Places follows two young drifters, Jean-Claude and Pierrot, who spend their days harassing strangers and committing petty crimes. After they steal a car belonging to a hairdresser, they flee with Marie-Ange, the man's mistress and shampoo girl, who joins them as their shared lover. The three travel across France, stealing cars and taunting the middle class while evading the police, their escapades shifting between farce and tragedy.

Bertrand Blier directed and co-wrote the film with Philippe Dumarçay, and it was the first feature he directed in a run that continued with Femmes Fatales, Get Out Your Handkerchiefs and Buffet Froid. Gérard Depardieu and Patrick Dewaere star as Jean-Claude and Pierrot, with Miou-Miou as Marie-Ange. Jeanne Moreau appears as Jeanne Pirolle, and Brigitte Fossey plays a woman on a train. The credited cast numbers twenty-six. Paul Claudon produced.

Released in March 1974, the film runs 117 minutes.
