Short description

When a 35-foot great white shark begins to wreak havoc on a seaside town, the mayor, not wanting to endanger his gubernatorial campaign, declines to act, so a local shark hunter and horror author band together to stop the beast.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In the US, the film was released under the title 'Great White Shark,' accompanied by an extensive advertising campaign. Shortly before this, Universal Studios sued the producers for plagiarizing their film 'Jaws' (1975) and won the case, resulting in the immediate termination of the film's distribution in the US. In Spain, however, the film was released specifically under the title 'Jaws 3.' Meanwhile, in Japan, the video cassette of the film was released under the title 'Jaws: The Return' with a cover blatantly copied from Steven Spielberg's original.
