Jack Deth, a police officer from the future left stranded in the late twentieth century, has spent six years living quietly in Los Angeles with his new wife Lena and his friend Hap. That peace ends when he senses that Trancers, people stripped of their will and turned into obedient killers, have returned. A new figure from the future has built an army of them, and Jack is pulled back into the fight to stop it. His situation grows more complicated when the authorities send his first wife, Alice, back through time to find him and bring him into the conflict, leaving him caught between the woman he married in the present and the wife he thought he had lost.
Charles Band directed this sequel, the sixth of the nineteen films he has directed in chronological order, between Meridian and Doctor Mordrid, and he also produced it from a screenplay by Jackson Barr. Tim Thomerson returns as Jack Deth, with Helen Hunt as Lena, Megan Ward as Alice, Biff Manard as Hap, and Martine Beswick and Jeffrey Combs in supporting roles. Twenty-two cast members and fifty-seven crew members are credited.
The film runs eighty-five minutes and was released in August 1991. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.4 from roughly 2,900 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.6 from about 137 votes, indicating a modest audience that regards it as a minor entry in the series.
