Annmariya Kalippilaanu is a 2016 Indian Malayalam-language family drama about a young girl named Annmaria and her bond with Gireesh, the man she draws into her world. The film centres on the conflict that arises from that relationship and the people around them, including Ambrose and David, with the child's perspective shaping much of the story.
The film was directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, who wrote the screenplay with John Manthrickal. It was the second film he directed, following Aadu in 2015 and preceding Alamara in 2017. Alice George produced it under the Goodwill Entertainments banner. Sara Arjun plays Annmaria, with Sunny Wayne as Gireesh, Aju Varghese as Ambrose, John Kaippallil as David, Leona Lishoy as Dr. Teresa Roy and Siddique as Baby. The film runs 127 minutes and was released on 5 August 2016.
Its worldwide box office came to about 2 million US dollars, a modest return for a Malayalam release of its period. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.2 out of 10 from roughly 1,700 votes. The much smaller pool of voters on TMDB gives it 7 out of 10, so the two audiences are broadly in agreement about the film.
