Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is an animated adventure that brings back the playful spirit of the 1960s television series. When Gotham City is threatened by four of its most persistent criminals, the Joker, the Riddler, the Penguin and Catwoman, Batman and Robin set out to stop them. The villains' scheme grows larger than the city itself, and the heroes' pursuit eventually takes them beyond Earth. Matters become more complicated when Batman falls under a sinister influence and turns against the very people he protects, leaving Robin and Catwoman to try to set things right.
The film is directed by Rick Morales, whose earlier work includes several animated LEGO superhero and Scooby-Doo titles. It was written by Michael Jelenic and James Tucker, with Jelenic also producing. Adam West and Burt Ward voice Batman and Robin, reprising the roles they played in the 1960s series, while Julie Newmar voices Catwoman and Jeff Bergman voices the Joker. Thomas Lennon and Sirena Irwin round out the main voice cast.
Released in 2016, the film runs 78 minutes and had a budget of about 4 million dollars. On IMDb it holds a 6.7 rating from roughly 7,000 votes, and on TMDB a 6.5 from around 300 votes, while a critics' rating of 7.9 comes from 18 reviews.
