City on Fire

Ko Chow is a police officer assigned to go undercover within a syndicate of jewel thieves in Hong Kong. To gain the trust of the criminals and assist in a major robbery, he must survive dangerous trials while posing as an arms dealer. As he forms a genuine bond with the gang members, he faces conflicting pressures from his superior, Inspector Lau, and a girlfriend who threatens to leave him. His situation is further complicated by other officers who are unaware of his true identity and pursue him as a criminal.

Directed by Ringo Lam, this action thriller was released in 1987 as his second film of that year, following Prison on Fire. The movie features a cast led by Chow Yun-fat, Sun Yueh, and Danny Lee Sau-Yin. It was produced by Cinema City and written by Tommy Sham Sai-Sang.
