Forbidden World

Forbidden World is set in a distant future where a federation marshal named Mike Colby is sent to a remote research facility on a far-off planet. Scientists there have been conducting genetic experiments aimed at solving food shortages, but the work goes wrong: an engineered organism escapes and begins consuming the staff one by one. As the isolated crew dwindles, Colby takes charge of the fight against the creature.

The film was directed by Allan Holzman from a screenplay by Tim Curnen, and produced by Roger Corman through New World Pictures. It runs 77 minutes and stars Jesse Vint as Colby, alongside Dawn Dunlap, June Chadwick, Linden Chiles, Fox Harris and Ray Oliver. Made quickly and economically in the tradition of Corman's low-budget science-fiction and horror productions, it combines a confined-space monster scenario with futuristic laboratory settings.

Audience response has been modest, with the film holding a rating of 5.1 out of 10 on IMDb from around 7,500 votes and 5.3 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 205 votes. A critics' rating of 5.2 out of 10, based on seven reviews, places critical and audience assessments at a similar level. The film remains a genre entry from the early 1980s rather than a widely celebrated title.
