The Pope seeks to regain the interest of spiritually distant young people by establishing a Vatican television station. To attract this audience, a priest recruits Renzo Arbore and a team of professional entertainers, including comedians from the Italian program L'altra Domenica, to create a variety show. As the production progresses, the efforts are complicated by internal intrigues and an eventual intervention from God.
