Alien 2: On Earth

A group of cave explorers ventures underground and encounters a strange living rock. The stone turns out to be connected to deadly, flesh-eating creatures with designs on the human population. The story also involves a returning space capsule whose crew has vanished, leaving only puzzling blue stones that a spelunking team later finds. The explorers discover too late what the rock really is, and a fight for survival follows.

Released in Italy in 1980, the film is an Italian horror and science fiction production directed by Ciro Ippolito and Biagio Proietti, with Ippolito also writing the screenplay and producing alongside Angiolo Stella. Belinda Mayne heads the cast as Thelma Joyce, supported by Mark Bodin, Michele Soavi, Benedetta Fantoli, Roberto Barrese and Judy Perrin. It runs 85 minutes.

The film is an unofficial, unauthorized companion piece to the 1979 film Alien, with little plot connection to it. Audience response has been weak: on IMDb it holds a rating of 3.7 from roughly 1,900 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 3.5 from about 79 votes, indicating a small and largely dissatisfied viewership across both platforms.
