A university student in Kyoto spends his evenings trying to engineer chance encounters with a younger classmate, a sophomore known only as the Girl with Black Hair, hoping she will come to see their meetings as fate. She notices none of it: her night out follows its own course through the city's bars and streets, where drinks are downed in quantity, a second-hand book from her childhood surfaces, and the people and creatures she runs into grow steadily stranger. Across one long night, the two move through the same city, with his plans repeatedly overtaken by events.

The voice cast includes Gen Hoshino as Senpai, Kana Hanazawa as the Girl with Black Hair, Ami Koshimizu, Aoi Yuki, Hiroshi Kamiya and Chikara Honda. Science SARU produced alongside TOHO, Fuji Television Network and KADOKAWA.
