Finding Steve McQueen

Finding Steve McQueen is a crime film set in 1972, centred on a tight-knit group of thieves from Youngstown, Ohio. They set out to take around $30 million that had been gathered as illegal contributions and hidden away on behalf of President Richard Nixon. The plan does not go as intended, and the crew has to improvise as the situation changes. The story is based on real events, and the group's interest in the money is bound up with their feelings about Nixon and the Vietnam War. Travis Fimmel plays Harry Barber, with Forest Whitaker as Howard Lambert, Rachael Taylor as Molly Murphy, William Fichtner as Enzo Rotella, Lily Rabe as Sharon Price and Jake Weary as Tommy Barber.

The film was directed by Mark Steven Johnson, working from a screenplay by Keith Sharon and Ken Hixon, and produced by Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi and Alexandra Klim. It is the sixth of the nine features Johnson has directed to date, arriving between Killing Season and Love, Guaranteed. Made on a budget of $12 million, it runs 91 minutes.
