Short description
Aliens vs Predator: Requiem is a 2007 science fiction action horror film set in a small American town. When a Predator scouting vessel crashes in the surrounding forest, the creatures held aboard escape, including facehuggers and a Predalien, a hybrid born from a Predator host. The escaping creatures infect local residents, turning the community into a hunting ground. A lone, experienced Predator is dispatched to Earth to contain the outbreak, eliminate the Alien threat and erase evidence of both species, while soldiers and civilians are caught between the two forces and a government response that threatens the town itself.
The film was directed by Colin Strause and Greg Strause, marking their first feature and preceding their later film Skyline. Shane Salerno wrote the screenplay, and David Giler, Walter Hill and John Davis produced. The cast includes Steven Pasquale as Dallas Howard, Reiko Aylesworth as Kelly O'Brien, John Ortiz as Sheriff Eddie Morales, Johnny Lewis as Ricky, Sam Trammell as Tim and David Paetkau as Dale, among 51 credited cast members and 231 credited crew.
Made for a budget of 40 million USD, the film took about 130 million USD worldwide, a solid return relative to its cost. Audience responses were weak: on IMDb it holds 4.6/10 from 146,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.2/10 from 3,439 votes. A critics' rating of 3.2/10 from 77 reviews places it below even the modest audience scores.
