One Piece: Chopper's Kingdom in the Strange Animal Island

The Straw Hat Pirates are thrown off course when underwater eruptions launch the Going Merry over an island, and Chopper is swept overboard and separated from his crewmates. He comes ashore to find an island inhabited entirely by talking animals, who greet him as the king they have been waiting for. Luffy and the others land elsewhere on the island, where a band of horn hunters has arrived in search of a legendary treasure. Their leader, Count Butler, plays the violin and consumes horns to gain power, and he intends to claim the island's greatest prize for himself. The crew sets out to stop the hunters and protect the animal kingdom, while a boy named Mobambi learns that pirates are not always the villains he assumes them to be.

Directed by Junji Shimizu, the film is the third One Piece theatrical feature and the third he directed in that series, following One Piece: The Movie and One Piece: Clockwork Island Adventure, and preceding later work such as One Piece: Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in the Winter, Miracle Cherry Blossom. Hiroshi Hashimoto wrote the screenplay. The voice cast includes Mayumi Tanaka as Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji and Ikue Otani as Chopper.

The film runs 56 minutes and was released in Japan in March 2002, produced by Toei Animation, Shueisha, Fuji Television Network and Toei Company. It grossed about 13 million US dollars worldwide. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.7 out of 10 from 237 votes.
