One Piece: Giant Mecha Soldier of Karakuri Castle

The Straw Hats pull a chest from a shipwreck, but instead of treasure they find an elderly woman with golden teeth hiding inside. She promises them a legendary prize, the Golden Crown, if they take her home to an island called Mecha Island. Once there, the crew meets Ratchet, the woman's son, who is looking for the same treasure. They agree to search together and enter a hidden cavern, where the island's real nature becomes clear. The Straw Hats must deal with Ratchet's plans and with a creature the island has been resting on before disaster reaches a neighbouring shore.

The film is a 2006 anime adventure directed by Konosuke Uda, who had already directed the earlier One Piece feature Dead End Adventure as well as episodes and specials of the series, and who returned to it after this entry. Masahiro Ito wrote the screenplay, and the regular voice cast carries the roles, among them Mayumi Tanaka, Kazuya Nakai, Akemi Okamura, Kappei Yamaguchi, Hiroaki Hirata and Kazue Ikura. It runs 94 minutes and is one of the series' theatrical features, produced in Japan by Toei Animation with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network and Toei Company.

Worldwide takings were modest at around 7 million dollars. On IMDb it holds 6.4 from roughly 2,300 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.9 from fewer than 200 votes.
