Strange but True

Strange but True follows a family still coming to terms with the death of Ronnie Chase, a promising high school student killed in a car crash on the night of his prom. Five years later, Melissa, who was close to Ronnie and survived the same accident, arrives at the family home several months pregnant. She insists that Ronnie is the father of her child. Ronnie's mother Charlene and his brother Philip, along with other members of the household, find the claim impossible to accept, yet they begin looking into Melissa's story. What they uncover proves more disturbing than anything they had imagined.

The thriller is a British, Canadian and American co-production directed by Rowan Athale, whose earlier feature was The Rise and who went on to direct Giant. Eric Garcia wrote the screenplay. Amy Ryan plays Charlene, Nick Robinson plays Philip, and Margaret Qualley plays Melissa, with Blythe Danner, Brian Cox and Greg Kinnear in supporting roles. The film runs 96 minutes.
