The Lodge

The Lodge follows Grace, a young woman who joins her boyfriend Richard and his two children, Aidan and Mia, at a remote winter cabin for the Christmas holidays. The children resent their father's new partner and have not moved past their parents' divorce. When Richard is called away for work, Grace is left alone with the siblings in the isolated house. A snowstorm cuts them off from the outside world, and unsettling events begin to unfold that appear tied to Grace's troubled past.

The film is directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, who wrote the screenplay with Sergio Casci. It is their second feature, arriving between Goodnight Mommy and The Devil's Bath. Riley Keough plays Grace, with Jaeden Martell, Lia McHugh, Richard Armitage and Alicia Silverstone among the cast. The production came from FilmNation Entertainment and Hammer Film Productions.

Released in January 2020, the film took in about 3 million dollars worldwide at the box office. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6 out of 10 from over 54,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.1 out of 10 from roughly 1,500 votes. A critics' rating of 7 out of 10 from 183 reviews sits slightly above those audience scores, suggesting reviewers responded more favourably than general viewers.
