Don't Breathe 2 is a horror thriller about Norman Nordstrom, a blind man who has spent years living quietly in a remote cabin, raising Phoenix, a girl left orphaned after a fire. Their routine is broken when a group of criminals arrive and take the girl, forcing Norman to leave the safety of his home and go after them to bring her back. Stephen Lang returns as Norman, with Madelyn Grace as Phoenix, alongside Brendan Sexton III, Adam Young, Rocci Williams and Christian Zagia.
Rodo Sayagues directed the film, his first time in the director's chair after co-writing the earlier instalment with Fede Álvarez; the two share screenplay credit here, and Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert and Fede Álvarez produced through Stage 6 Films, Screen Gems, Ghost House Pictures and Good Universe. Made for about 15 million dollars, it took roughly 54 million worldwide, a solid return on its budget. Audience response has been favourable: on IMDb it holds 6 out of 10 from around 81,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7 out of 10 from a smaller pool of users. Critics were less convinced, giving it 4.9 out of 10 across 82 reviews, so the gap between professional and viewer opinion is noticeable. The film runs 98 minutes.
