Amber Moore is a young New York journalist who normally works behind the scenes, fixing other writers' copy. She gets a chance to report from abroad when her editor sends her to Aldovia, a small European kingdom where Prince Richard is expected to take the throne. To get close to the palace, Amber poses as a tutor for Richard's younger sister, Princess Emily. She soon becomes caught up in intrigue at court and grows close to the prince, even as she hides the real reason she is there.
The film was directed by Alex Zamm from a screenplay by Nate Atkins and Karen Schaler, and produced by Amy Krell for Motion Picture Corporation of America. It is a television romance, running 92 minutes, and it sits ninth in Zamm's directing credits, between Woody Woodpecker and Under Wraps. Rose McIver plays Amber, with Ben Lamb as Richard, Alice Krige as Helena, Honor Kneafsey as Emily, Theo Devaney as Simon and Sarah Douglas as Averill. The cast numbers 21.
Released in November 2017, it earned an IMDb rating of 5.8 from around 23,000 votes, while on TMDB it holds 6.6 from roughly 1,500 votes. The much larger IMDb sample suggests a modest, mixed reception, whereas the smaller TMDB group is somewhat warmer.
