Short description
A bombastic, womanizing art dealer and his painter friend go to a seventeenth-century villa on the Riviera for a relaxing summer getaway. But their idyll is disturbed by the presence of the bohemian Haydée, accused of being a “collector” of men.
What's left behind the scenes
- While filming this movie, director Eric Rohmer adhered to several rules: all actor improvisations were incorporated into the script (even when actors simply suggested a few lines, their names were included in the credits as writers), numerous rehearsals were held first, and then the scene was shot in only a few takes; the film consisted of unobtrusive mise-en-scènes with smooth, long shots of the main characters, who by a twist of fate found themselves at a guest house in Saint-Tropez at the same time.
