Trolls Holiday

Poppy, the ever-cheerful queen of the Trolls, discovers that the Bergens have no holidays left on their calendar. She sets out with Branch and the rest of their friends on an unusual mission to give the Bergens something to celebrate, even though the Bergens themselves see nothing missing from their lives. The effort centers on Bridget and the other Bergens, and on finding an occasion the two very different peoples can share.

Trolls Holiday is a 26-minute animated television special released in 2017, made by DreamWorks Animation and NBC. It was the first film directed by Joel Crawford, who went on to direct The Croods: A New Age in 2020, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish in 2022, and Forgotten Island in 2026. The screenplay is by Jonathan Fener and Josh Bycel, with Holly Edwards producing. Anna Kendrick voices Poppy and Justin Timberlake voices Branch, while Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, James Corden and Ron Funches are among the voice cast.

Reception has been modest but generally positive. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.1 from around 3,900 votes, while on TMDB it rates 6.7 from roughly 516 votes, suggesting a smaller, somewhat more favorable audience on the latter. The short runtime and television debut place it as a holiday-themed companion to the Trolls feature films rather than a theatrical entry in the series.
