Ten Little Indians

Ten strangers travel to an isolated mansion in the Austrian Alps as weekend guests of a host none of them has met. When their host fails to appear, a recording accuses each of them of a past crime they escaped punishment for. What begins as an unsettling prank soon turns into a series of deaths, as one guest after another is killed according to a children's rhyme.

Ten Little Indians is a British adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel, directed by George Pollock. It was his fourth film, following a run of three Christie adaptations: Murder She Said in 1961, Murder at the Gallop in 1963 and Murder Most Foul in 1964. The screenplay was written by Dudley Nichols and Harry Alan Towers, who also produced with Harry M. Popkin. The cast includes Hugh O'Brian, Shirley Eaton, Fabian, Leo Genn, Stanley Holloway and Wilfrid Hyde-White.

The film runs 92 minutes and was released in July 1965. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.6 from around 6,000 votes, while on TMDB it has a 6.3 from 141 votes. Both figures suggest a modest but lasting reputation among viewers rather than a widely celebrated one.
