Dragon Ball Super: Broly

Dragon Ball Super: Broly picks up after the Tournament of Power, with Earth at peace and Goku training in the knowledge that far stronger fighters still exist across the universes. That calm ends when Frieza returns and a Saiyan named Broly appears alongside his father, Paragus. Since the Saiyan race was believed to have been wiped out with the destruction of Planet Vegeta, Broly's existence is a mystery, and the meeting between three Saiyans raised under very different circumstances quickly becomes a battle. The screenplay was written by Akira Toriyama, and the film focuses on the origins of Saiyan strength and what being a Saiyan means.

Tatsuya Nagamine directed, placing the film between One Piece: Heart of Gold and Ojamajo Doremi 1620's in his filmography. The voice cast is led by Masako Nozawa, who plays Goku, Goten and Bardock, alongside Ryou Horikawa as Vegeta, Aya Hisakawa as Bulma, Toshio Furukawa as Piccolo, Takeshi Kusao as Trunks and Ryusei Nakao as Frieza. It was made by Toei Animation with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network and Bandai Namco Entertainment, on a budget of nine million dollars, and it went on to earn 123 million dollars worldwide.

On IMDb it holds 7.7 out of 10 from around 37,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 8 out of 10 from a few thousand votes. A critics' rating of 7.1 out of 10 from 57 reviews sits somewhat below those audience scores.
