Grizzly Falls

Grizzly Falls is an adventure film set in 1913, in which a renowned hunter named Tyrone Bankston takes his young son Harry along on an expedition into the Canadian wilderness. Tyrone hopes the trip will make a man of the boy, and his aim is to capture a grizzly bear alive. The plan goes wrong once two cubs are caught: their mother, enraged, seizes Harry and carries him off. Stranded with the bear, the boy learns to survive in the wild, and a bond forms between them, while his father sets out after them.

The film was directed by Stewart Raffill. It is the seventh of the nine features listed in his filmography, arriving between Tammy and the T-Rex in 1994 and Three in 2005. Richard Beattie wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Bryan Brown as Tyrone, Richard Harris as an older Harry looking back on the events, Daniel Clark as the young Harry, Tom Jackson, Oliver Tobias and Brock Simpson.

Released in November 1999, the film runs 94 minutes and was made as a co-production between the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.9 from 704 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from 38 votes, indicating modest but similar levels of approval from both audiences.
