My Hero Academia: Two Heroes

My Hero Academia: Two Heroes is a 2018 Japanese animated action-adventure film based on the manga and anime series My Hero Academia. Izuku Midoriya and his idol All Might travel abroad to I-Island, a floating man-made city where scientists from around the world study superpowers, known as Quirks, and develop support equipment for heroes. The visit coincides with the I-Expo convention, and there Izuku meets Melissa Shield, a girl his own age who, like him in the past, was born without a Quirk. The trip is interrupted when villains breach the island's security and take its inhabitants hostage, leaving Izuku, his classmates from Class 1-A and All Might as the only ones positioned to fight back.

Kenji Nagasaki directed the film, his second time directing in the franchise after the 2016 My Hero Academia, followed by Heroes Rising and World Heroes' Mission and the 2019 All Might Rising, making him the filmmaker most closely associated with the series on screen. Yosuke Kuroda wrote the screenplay. The voice cast is led by Daiki Yamashita as Izuku Midoriya and Kenta Miyake as All Might, with Mirai Shida as Melissa Shield, Namase Katsuhisa as David Shield, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Katsuki Bakugo and Ayane Sakura as Ochako Uraraka.

Made on a budget of about 12 million USD, the film returned roughly 28 million USD worldwide, a solid result for a theatrical spin-off of a television anime. It holds a 7.3/10 rating on IMDb from around 15,000 votes and a 7.9/10 on TMDB from about 1,145 votes, while a smaller group of critics rated it 7.5/10, broadly in line with how audiences received it.
