Raya and the Last Dragon

Raya and the Last Dragon is set in Kumandra, a land where people and dragons once lived side by side. When a destructive force known as the Druun swept through, turning living things to stone, the dragons gave their lives to end it. Five centuries later the Druun have returned, and Kumandra has long since broken apart into rival nations. Raya, a young warrior and the daughter of a chief, sets out to find the one dragon said to have survived, hoping to undo the damage and bring the divided peoples back together. Her search leads her to Sisu, and to companions gathered along the way, but the mistrust between the nations stands in the way of any lasting repair.

The film is a Walt Disney Animation Studios production directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, from a screenplay by Adele Lim and Qui Nguyen, with Peter Del Vecho and Osnat Shurer producing. It arrived between Hall's Big Hero 6 and Strange World, and was López Estrada's second feature after Blindspotting. Kelly Marie Tran voices Raya and Awkwafina voices Sisu, with Gemma Chan, Alan Tudyk, Izaac Wang and Benedict Wong among the cast.

Released in March 2021, it carries a reported budget of 100 million USD and a worldwide box office of about 130 million. On IMDb it holds 7.3/10 from roughly 187,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.8/10 from around 7,400 votes. The critics' rating is 7.7/10 from 303 reviews, broadly in line with those audience scores.
