Hello Mr. Billionaire

Hello Mr. Billionaire follows Wang Duoyu, a struggling goalkeeper for a lower-league football club who learns that a distant, wealthy relative has left him an enormous inheritance. The catch is that before he can collect the far larger sum, he must spend one billion within thirty days, without telling anyone about the arrangement and without holding on to anything of value at the end. The task turns his ordinary life upside down as he tries to shed the money under the strange restrictions.

The film is a Chinese comedy directed by Yan Fei and Peng Damo, who also wrote the screenplay with Bingbao Lin. It sits between their earlier Goodbye Mr. Loser and their later Successor. Shen Teng leads the cast as Wang Duoyu, alongside Vivian Sung Yun-hua, Zhang Yiming, Morning Chang, Chang Yuan and Wei Xiang, among a credited cast of 35. Released in July 2018, the film runs 118 minutes and was produced by Fun Age Pictures.

Its worldwide box office reached about 376 million USD, a strong commercial result for a comedy of this kind. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.2 from roughly 3,100 votes, while on TMDB it rates 7 out of 10 from about 150 votes, indicating a warmer response from that audience than from IMDb users.
