Amelia Hughes works as an app developer in Chicago and has little interest in the holidays. Shortly before Christmas she travels back to Christmas Creek, the small town where she grew up, hoping to find some connection to the season she has lost. Once there she runs into Mike, a friend from her childhood, and her uncle Harry, whose long-standing dispute with Amelia's father split the family years earlier during the holidays.
The film is a Canadian-American television production directed by Don McBrearty, made for the holiday season and running about ninety minutes. It sits between two other Christmas titles he directed in the same period, following Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe and preceding Double Holiday. Tori Anderson plays Amelia, with Stephen Huszar as Mike and Steven Weber as Harry. Kari Matchett, Byron Abalos and Janet Porter appear in supporting roles, and David Anselmo produced.
Released in November 2018, the film has drawn modest but steady attention on IMDb, where it holds a rating of 6.1 from around 2,600 votes, and on TMDB, where it scores 6.5 from roughly 123 votes. The larger vote count on IMDb alongside a slightly lower average suggests a broad television audience responding with mild approval rather than strong enthusiasm, while the smaller, more self-selected group on TMDB rates it a little more generously. Both figures point to a film that found a settled place among seasonal television viewers.
