Jungleland follows two brothers who make their living in the underground world of bare-knuckle boxing. Stanley manages his younger brother Lion, a fighter, and after a costly defeat leaves them owing money to a dangerous criminal figure, they take on a job that requires them to drive across the country for a high-stakes tournament. Along the way they are saddled with an unexpected passenger, a young woman named Sky, and the pressures of the journey and the upcoming fight test the bond between the brothers.
The film is directed by Max Winkler, his second feature after Flower (2017), from a screenplay he wrote with David Branson Smith and Theodore Bressman. Charlie Hunnam plays Stanley and Jack O'Connell plays Lion, with Jessica Barden as Sky and Jonathan Majors as Pepper. It is a drama running ninety minutes, produced by Romulus Entertainment and Scott Free Productions.
On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.2 from around 8,100 votes, while on TMDB it scores 6.4 from roughly 165 votes, a small sample. A critics' rating of 6.4 from 59 reviews places it close to the audience scores, suggesting a mixed but not strongly divisive response to this modest, character-driven road drama.
