Svaha: The Sixth Finger

Pastor Park Ung-jae runs an organization dedicated to investigating religious groups and warning people against fraudulent leaders. His work brings him to Deer Mount, a small new movement that at first appears unremarkable, but which he comes to suspect is tied to a killing. A police captain, Hwang, is meanwhile pursuing a murder case in which a member of the same group is the leading suspect, and the two strands of inquiry gradually converge. Among those drawn into the story are a young girl named Geum-hwa and a figure connected to the cult, Na-han, whose role becomes clearer as the pastor digs deeper.

The film is a Korean crime and mystery thriller directed and written by Jang Jae-hyun, following his 2015 debut The Priests and preceding Exhuma (2024). It stars Lee Jung-jae as Park Ung-jae, with Park Jeong-min, Lee Jae-in, Yoo Ji-tae, Jung Jin-young and Jin Sun-kyu among the cast. Ryoo Seung-wan and Kang Hye-jung are credited among the producers, and the production involved CJ Entertainment, Filmmaker R&K and filmK. Released in February 2019 and running 122 minutes, it took in roughly 18 million US dollars worldwide. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.7 out of 10 from 224 votes.
