Grizzly

A giant grizzly bear stalks a national park, killing campers and leaving mutilated bodies for the rangers to find. As the death toll rises, ranger Michael Kelly works with a bear specialist and a helicopter pilot to track the animal down and stop it, while the park superintendent delays closing the area for fear of losing tourist revenue. Their hunt is complicated when a group of drunken hunters arrives in the park, getting in the way of the effort to capture or destroy the bear.

The film was directed by William Girdler, arriving between Sheba, Baby in 1975 and Project: Kill the same year as this release, part of a run of five features that continued with Day of the Animals and The Manitou. David Sheldon and Harvey Flaxman wrote and produced. Christopher George leads as Kelly, with Andrew Prine as pilot Don Stober, Richard Jaeckel as specialist Arthur Scott, Joan McCall, Joe Dorsey and Charles Kissinger in supporting roles. A American production from 1976, it runs 91 minutes and blends adventure, horror and thriller elements.
