Short description
Evan Hansen, a high schooler with social anxiety, unintentionally gets caught up in a lie after the family of a classmate who committed suicide mistakes one of Hansen’s letters for their son’s suicide note.
What's left behind the scenes
- Almost all of the songs performed in the film were recorded live on set to make the sound as close as possible to how Ben Platt actually sings.
- Preparing for the role of Evan Hansen, Ben Platt lost weight and grew his hair longer to better resemble an awkward teenager.
- To prepare for filming, Amy Adams gained weight to look like a mother of teenagers.
