A young poker player at the height of his talent is drawn into a crew assembled by a veteran gambler known as One-Eyed Jack. The group sets out to pull off a scheme aimed at a very large payout, but a single misstep turns their plan into a matter of survival for everyone involved. The story centres on the world of professional card gambling and the people who live by it.
The film is directed by Kwon O-kwang, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeong Cheol, and it stars Park Jeong-min as Do Il-chul, Ryoo Seung-bum as Ae-ggoo, Choi Yu-hwa as Madonna, Woo Hyeon as Mr. Mool, Yoon Je-moon as Lee Sang-moo and Lee Kwang-soo as Kka-chi, among a credited cast of 65. It belongs to the Tazza series of Korean gambling films.
Made for about 10 million USD, it took roughly 18 million USD worldwide, a return that reflects a solid commercial performance rather than a breakout hit. Audience scores sit in the middle: on IMDb it holds 6.1/10 from 817 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 6/10 from 39 votes.
