Beatrice celebrates the release of her book, which details how an accident left her husband, Frederic, blind. In the wake of his injury, Frederic has become an unpredictable man who speaks his mind without hesitation, though he remains charming and funny. While the book is intended as a tribute to life, it creates tension among their circle of family and friends. Despite the use of pseudonyms, those close to the couple attempt to identify themselves within the pages, sparking old jealousies and conflicts.
This French comedy was directed by Eric Lavaine, following his 2014 film Barbecue and preceding Happy 50 in 2022. The screenplay was written by Eric Lavaine along with Barbara Halary-Lafond and Bruno Lavaine. The movie stars Alexandra Lamy as Beatrice and Jose Garcia as Frederic, supported by a cast that includes Michael Youn, Anne Marivin, Medi Sadoun, and Michel Vuillermoz.
Produced by Gaumont, TF1 Films Production, SCOPE Pictures, and Same Player, the film earned 2 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is mixed but generally positive, with a rating of 5.9/10 on IMDb based on 1,200 votes and a 6.1/10 on TMDB from 311 votes.
