The Traitor

The Traitor is an Italian crime drama about Tommaso Buscetta, a Sicilian mafia figure who leaves Palermo in 1980 for Brazil with his family, hoping to escape the violent feud between rival clans. The conflict follows him: misfortunes abroad and bloodshed back home push him to return to Italy, where he makes a choice that reshapes both his own future and that of Cosa Nostra. Pierfrancesco Favino plays Buscetta, with Maria Fernanda Cândido as Maria Cristina de Almeida, Fabrizio Ferracane as Pippo Calò, Fausto Russo Alesi as Giovanni Falcone and Luigi Lo Cascio as Salvatore Contorno in a large cast of 84 credited performers.
