Bait

Set in a coastal village in Cornwall, this drama follows the conflict between two brothers, Martin and Steven Ward. While Martin attempts to maintain the traditional fishing lifestyle of their ancestors, Steven has converted their father's boat into a tourist excursion vessel. This disagreement is worsened when their family home is sold to wealthy buyers from London. As Martin struggles against the displacement of locals and the rise of tourism in the harbor, a family tragedy forces a change in his perspective.

The film was written and directed by Mark Jenkin, marking the first of three listed features in his career, followed by Enys Men and Rose of Nevada. The cast is led by Edward Rowe, Giles King, and Mary Woodvine. Produced by Early Day Films, the movie was shot on 16mm film from 1976 and processed by hand.
