Short description
Set in 1984 within the Arctic Circle, this science fiction horror film centers on the Kola Superdeep Borehole, a massive secret Soviet laboratory located 12,000 meters underground. After scientists record mysterious voices and screams coming from the depths, the facility is shut down. A research team led by Anna descends into the world's deepest borehole to investigate the source of these sounds, only to encounter a gruesome discovery that threatens the future of humanity.
The film was directed by Arseny Syukhin, marking the first of two listed films in his career. The screenplay was written by Victor Bondaryuk, Arseny Syukhin, and Sergey Torchilin. The movie features Milena Radulović in the lead role as Anna, alongside Sergey Ivanuk, Nicholay Kovbas, Nikita Dyuvbanov, Vadim Demchog, and Albina Chaykina.
Produced by Cinema Fund, TrioFilm, and SSB Films, the project had a budget of 125 million USD. Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 4.9/10 based on 6,700 votes on IMDb and a slightly higher score of 5.9/10 from 378 votes on TMDB.

- Roman Karimov was originally slated to direct the film.
- At the 2-minute mark of the film, a character is shown tapping a syringe filled with medication with their finger. This is usually done to remove air bubbles from the liquid, but in this case, the syringe plunger is positioned so that the syringe contains approximately half medication and half air. Therefore, tapping the syringe only creates more air bubbles in the liquid.
- For her role in the film, Serbian actress Milena Radulović learned Russian.
- Descending into a real mine shaft would be impossible. The diameter of the upper part of the Kola Superdeep Borehole is 92 cm, and the lower part is 21.5 cm.
