Ransomed

Set during the Lebanese civil war, this film follows a young South Korean diplomat named Min-jun. After a colleague was kidnapped in Beirut in 1986 and presumed dead, Min-jun receives evidence that the hostage is still alive. He travels to Lebanon to lead a rescue mission, carrying ransom money. Once there, he forms an essential partnership with a local taxi driver named Pan-soo to locate and free the missing diplomat.

Directed by Kim Seong-hun, this project follows his previous works A Hard Day, Tunnel, and Kingdom: Ashin of the North. The movie stars Ha Jung-woo as Lee Min-jun and Ju Ji-hoon as Kim Pan-su, with supporting roles played by Lim Hyung-kook, Kim Eung-soo, Kim Jong-soo, and Park Hyeok-kwon. The production was handled by Showbox, Wind Up Film, and Why Not Media.

The film has received generally positive feedback from viewers and critics. It holds a rating of 6.6/10 on IMDb based on 1,800 votes and 6.7/10 on TMDB from 59 votes. Film critics provided a slightly higher score of 7.3/10 based on 9 reviews.
