The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil

A crime boss in Cheonan survives an attack by a serial killer, becoming the only victim to escape and the only person who can identify him. His reputation damaged, Jang Dong-su wants the killer dead to restore his standing. Detective Jung Tae-suk, known for his hostility toward organized crime, believes the same man is behind a string of murders in the city. The two make a deal: whoever finds the killer first will determine what happens to him. Their pursuit of the man called K forces the gangster and the detective into an uneasy partnership that blurs the line between law and crime.

Lee Won-tae wrote and directed the film, his first feature, followed by The Devil's Deal in 2023. Ma Dong-seok (also credited as Don Lee) plays Jang Dong-su, with Kim Moo-yul as Jung Tae-suk and Kim Sung-kyu as Kang Gyeong-ho. Sylvester Stallone is among the producers. Made on a budget of about 7 million dollars, the film took roughly 26 million dollars worldwide, a strong return on its cost. On IMDb it holds 7 out of 10 from over 33,000 votes, while on TMDB it scores 7.9 out of 10 from about 1,600 votes. A critics' rating of 6.9 out of 10 from 36 reviews places it a little below the audience scores.
